DOC Volunteer Training
There are many opportunities for you to serve in this ministry. All we ask is that you have a willing heart and a spirit of obedience and you can play a crucial role in God's ministry of Changing Hearts, Transforming Lives and Impacting the World.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections provides background checks and volunteer training. This training is required for Kairos team members working within prisons. Once trained, Kairos volunteers receive DOC Volunteer ID badges that allow entry into prison facilities during Kairos activies.
New Kairos Team Members:
Fill out the DOC on-line volunteer application (see '
DOC Sign-up Guide' below). Before beginning the application, you will need: 1. Your Driver's License, 2. Two References (Name, Phone #, Email addr.).
After submitting the DOC application, please inform Kairos leaders of your application who will then give your name to the Facility Chaplain (see the steps outlined in the DOC Sign-up Guide). The Facility Chaplain must approve/accept before DOC will schedule training.
If ex-offender:
Please call DOC Training office 405-425-7312 for sign-up and reference guidance.
All Team Members:
Check your DOC badge expiration date. If within 6 months of expiring, call Oklahoma DOC at 405-425-7312 and ask about retraining.
